Indoor Environmental Quality: An Ancient Concern Finding its Place in the Modern World
Description
Robert Bean, ASHRAE Fellow and ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturer, is a widely recognized thought leader in indoor air quality, decarbonization, and performance-based building design. Listen as he reveals why design practitioners need to develop a deeper understanding of the implied meanings of indoor environmental quality (IEQ) and HVAC, and why architecture, enclosures, and interior systems are seen as first-point solutions. Topics will include potential operational conflicts between ASHRAE Standards 62.1, 62.2, 241, and Standard 55 as well as the introduction of a modernized hybrid HVAC/DHW system to facilitate compliance with evolving IEQ standards and help mitigate the indoor environmental challenges brought about by first-point solutions.
