Kelsey Syvrud, PhD, is the Director of Investment Strategy at Fire Capital Management (FCM). She is also a Visiting Instructional Specialist at Florida State University (FSU). At FCM, she applies financial and economic theories based on academic research to design customized portfolios for clients. She conducts statistical analyses on portfolios and due diligence on public and private investments. Dr. Syvrud has considerable experience teaching advanced courses in finance and econometrics at the graduate and undergraduate level. She has won multiple teaching awards, including one for developing a financial data analytics course for the M.S. Finance program at FSU. Prior to joining Fire Capital, she spent several years at Cornerstone Research, a litigation consulting firm specializing in expert witness support for corporate litigation. She has also held adjunct roles at the University of South Carolina and the University of South Florida. Dr. Syvrud graduated with a PhD, MS, and BS in Finance, all from FSU. Her work has been published in the Journal of International Business Studies and a chapter contained within Commodities: markets, performance, and strategies.
