Terri Mickelsen is the CEO of Clean Energy Credit Union, a national online only credit union headquartered in Englewood, Colorado. Terri joined Clean Energy CU in 2017, to help obtain its Federal Charter. Since chartering in 2018, Clean Energy Credit Union has gone from startup phase to a 50-million-dollar credit union with over 10,000 clean energy focused loans and serving over 8,000 members.
Terri’s passion for helping members and credit unions started while working as a teller. Her roles in credit unions have centered around serving members via branches, call centers, and online/mobile banking. With a focus on helping underserved communities throughout New Mexico, she has also worked with programs such as the Individual Development Accounts (IDA) to support asset-building opportunities for low-income families and provide pay day loan alternatives.
Prior to joining Clean Energy CU, Terri served as COO and VP of Internal Operations at two New Mexico credit unions, each with over $500M in assets. During her 11 plus years as an executive team member she was recognized for her ability to incorporate innovations that resulted in significant improvements in the quality of service and cost savings for the organization.
As a community member, she has over 25 years of volunteer service including Highlands Ranch High School Kapstone Judge, United Way Community Fund Panel Chair, Girl Scouts of America, Junior Achievement and as a Quality New Mexico Examiner. Terri earned her bachelor’s in business administration at the College of Santa Fe.
