This panel will report on recent creative approaches to CIU investigative processes including: how to get a CIU re-investigation agreement and process when there is no CIU in the prosecutor’s office; how to get an independent panel outside of a CIU to re-investigate a controversial case; how to get an established CIU to use an independent panel internally to investigate a large number of cases; and how to get CIU agreements to limit discovery of attorney client communications.
