Jane Dorotik
Jane Dorotik was wrongfully convicted of murdering her husband Robert in February 2000. On May 16, 2022, the San Diego County District Attorney's Office dismissed the case after she had been free from prison for more than two years, based on post-conviction DNA testing, the discovery of exculpatory evidence not disclosed by the prosecution, and false forensic evidence. While incarcerated, Jane founded Compassionate Companions and the newsletter, Strive High. She currently is a Policy Advisor for the Los Angeles Innocence Project. She advocates for prison abolition as well as dignity and compassion for all incarcerated individuals and is a member of the California Coalition for Women Prisoners.
