Lauren Myerscough-Mueller is a Staff Attorney at the Exoneration Project and a Lecturer in Law at the Exoneration Clinic at the University of Chicago Law School. Lauren previously represented the wrongly convicted at the Illinois Innocence Project and taught courses on wrongful convictions at the University of Illinois Springfield and Southern Illinois University School of Law. Lauren also practiced as a criminal defense attorney in the Chicago area, both as a private attorney and a public defender. She graduated from the Northwestern University School of Law, where she participated in several clinics and interned for the Cook County Public Defender Homicide Task Force. Prior to law school, Lauren worked on federal issues in Washington, DC.
