Jhody is the Founder/Director of the Legal Empowerment and Advocacy Hub (LEAH) and former Director of Community Justice at the River Phoenix Center for Peacebuilding. Jhody is a 2018 Soros Justice Fellow and formerly incarcerated Jailhouse Lawyer. In 2019, she received the Peacebuilder of the Year award, and in 2020, she received the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Legacy Award. She served as the Director of the Alachua County Reentry Coalition from 2017 to 2020 and is the founder of the Florida Council for Incarcerated and Formerly Incarcerated Women and Girls.
