Elizabeth Ramirez was wrongfully convicted of sexual assault to a child and was sentenced to 37.5 years in prison to run concurrent with a 15 year sentence for indecency to a child in 1994. Elizabeth served 17 years in prison and fought 24 years for her innocence until she was finally exonerated on November 23, 2016. Elizabeth is 48 years old, from San Antonio, Texas and a student at San Antonio Community College studying to be a paralegal. Elizabeth has one child Hector, and 2 beautiful grandbabies, Scarlett Jo and Samuel. Elizabeth currently works in a print shop and spends much of her time committed to sharing her experience and speaking on wrongful conviction for several Innocence Projects throughout the United States.
