Shabaka Shakur was wrongly convicted in 1988, after which he dedicated himself to learning the law and spent over two decades successfully fighting for his freedom in courts. Since his release and exoneration in 2015 he has presented several talks on behalf of the Innocence Project. Shabaka is the founder of Absolutely Innocent Inc., a non-profit that serves wrongfully convicted persons in New York.
