The purpose of this session is for the Policy Department at the Innocence Project to connect with, hear from, and speak to Innocence Network members about the department's work and the Innocence Network’s state-level policy needs. The Innocence Project policy staff hopes to hear from Network partners about the types of research, materials or expertise (e.g. national landscape documents; fact sheets; facts vs myths; model policies for prosecutors’ offices, model legislation etc.) that would benefit Network members engaged in policy work and to hear about the various policy issues Network members are interested in pursuing now, or in the future, at the state and local level. We hope to come away from the session with an understanding of how the Policy Department can support Network member organizations with state-based campaigns.
