Jill McCorkel, PhD, is Professor of Sociology and Criminology at Villanova University, where she holds faculty affiliations with Gender & Women's Studies, Africana Studies, and Irish Studies. She is founder and Executive Director of the Philadelphia Justice Project for Women & Girls. Dr. McCorkel is the author of Breaking Women: Gender, Race, and the New Politics of Imprisonment (New York University Press, 2013).
