Michael Garmisa has been the Supervisor of the Conviction Integrity Unit in the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office since 2021. Mike joined DA Krasner's administration in 2018, working in the Conviction Integrity Unit, which investigates claims of actual innocence, wrongful conviction, and sentencing inequity. He also worked in the Special Investigations Unit, which investigates and prosecutes Officer Involved Shooting Incidents, Internal Affairs Unit referrals, and other forms of municipal corruption. Mike implements the District Attorney's Brady/Giglio Database. Before joining the District Attorney's Office, Mike worked as a public defender in Philadelphia for 12 years, where he was appointed to the Homicide/Special Defense Unit, the Appeals Unit, and worked as a unit supervisor. Mike received his bachelor’s and law degrees from Emory University.
