Billy Gibbens practices criminal defense and commercial litigation at Schonekas, Evans, McGoey & McEachin, L.L.C. in New Orleans, Louisiana. Before entering private practice, Billy was an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Louisiana, where he handled white collar and public corruption cases. Billy is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and he has served as a member of the Lawyer’s Disciplinary Committee for the Eastern District of Louisiana, as the Criminal Justice Act Panel Representative for the Eastern District of Louisiana, as an adjunct faculty member at Tulane University Law School, as a board member of the New Orleans Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and as Chair of the New Orleans Bar Association’s Criminal Law Committee. Billy graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law and clerked for Judge Edith Brown Clement of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
