Eugene Johnson was exonerated for a crime that he didn’t commit. He is a Black man with high expectations and goals, and he is a loving son, a brother, an uncle, a nephew, and a cousin–and one day a dad-to-be. Since being in the “free” world, Eugene strives to rediscover who he is and what makes him happy. He is very close to God, who he walks with through this life’s journey. Although not everything is as he prayed for them to be, he finds gratitude in where he is now in life.
