The researchers and editors at the National Registry of Exonerations will showcase the Registry's new website and offer a guided tutorial for navigating the new system and extensive materials. For over 12 years, the Registry has maintained the only complete, living record of all known exonerations in the United States. The Registry houses this data on its website – an online archive of over 4,000 individual exonerations. In 2025, the Registry is unveiling a new custom-built website with improved navigation, expanded access to the more granular social science coding the Registry collects, and an overall improved user experience. Attendees will learn how to best search, sort, and filter for exonerations, using a variety of new tools and features. They will also learn about new forensic science discipline and problem data, and how to best compile, extract, and present data on exonerations with false or misleading forensic evidence, and other contributing factors, in their own work.
