Name
Alive Inside: Grief and Gratitude Writing Workshop
Description

This communal workshop offers a chance to creatively express ourselves and engage with our own (and collective) grief, loss, and aliveness through writing and music. It's a chance to connect in community, remember we are not alone, and tap into our innate wisdom to creatively face our unique experiences of being alive. Alive Inside offers programming for anyone impacted by the prison system (formerly incarcerated, lawyers, family members, policy makers, and all). In this workshop, we will be guided by a series of writing prompts to co-create a space of deep sharing and listening, exploring aspects of grief unique to the complex yet often overlapping experiences of those in attendance. There will be music throughout the session for grounding, deepening, and integration. This session is modeled after a program that has taken roots originally inside San Quentin in California and inspired by time with the Ohio Innocence Project.
