A. Elizabeth (Betsi) Griffith is an associate deputy director in the Policy Office of the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), overseeing the Courts, Communities, and Strategic Partnerships team. She oversees community violence initiatives including treatment courts and system integrity and access to justice projects. She has also served as the deputy director of planning and operations, and as associate deputy director for justice systems at BJA. Her career at the Department of Justice began at the National Institute of Justice as the director of development. Before that, Betsi served as the director of the Mayor's Office on Criminal Justice for the City of Baltimore.
