Richard Horton was wrongly convicted and spent over 16 years in prison. In 2022, with the help of the Ohio Innocence Project, he was freed, and a judge vacated his 23-year prison sentence. He has a full-time job, joined the local laborer's union, and recently bought a house. At the time of his conviction, he had been married to his wife, Janette, for six months. After suffering a divorce during incarceration, Janette and Richard remarried when he was freed. They enjoy using their love story to motivate and educate others and have participated in many different panels around the state of Ohio.
