Kenneth Nixon, a Michigan exoneree, spent nearly 16 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit before his exoneration on February 18, 2021. Since then, he has become a powerful advocate for criminal justice reform, focusing on re-entry services, wrongful conviction compensation, and legislative change. As chairman and co-founder of the Organization of Exonerees, Kenneth leads efforts to address systemic injustices and support the exoneration of innocent people. He also serves as director of outreach and community engagement at Safe and Just Michigan, advancing reforms to reduce incarceration and promote safer communities. Kenneth's work spans advocacy, legislation, and direct action nationwide.
