Sharon L. Beckman is clinical professor of law and director of the Boston College Innocence Program (BCIP). BCIP investigates and litigates on behalf of people wrongfully convicted in Massachusetts and advocates for reforms to remedy and prevent these injustices. A 2020 Massachusetts Lawyer of the Year, she serves on the Supreme Judicial Court's Standing Committee on Eyewitness ID and the Massachusetts Conviction Integrity Working Group. Previously, Sharon was a law clerk for Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor and a criminal defense and civil rights litigator in Boston and Chicago. She graduated from Harvard College and the University of Michigan Law School.
