Amaranta Ibarra-Sandys is a south Seattle-based mixed media artist. She is a graduate of ceramics and Mexican folk art from Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes. She was born and raised in Mexico City. She is the Creative Director of ArtMaranth Mobile School, an arts advocate, youth mural mentor, community builder, public artist, consultant, director and producer of Dos Fridas live installation, mother of a teenager, and a cat mama. Amaranta continues to uplift artists and uses her artistic platform as a tool for social change. She hopes to inspire young and old to find time, space, and healing through arts.
