Joseph (Joe) Makalusky is an assistant bar counsel with the Office of Bar Counsel in Massachusetts, whose mission is to protect the public from unethical conduct by attorneys and to preserve and enhance the integrity and high standards of the profession. As a former criminal prosecutor, Joe understands the importance of holding prosecutors accountable when they act in violation of the rules of professional conduct. He was lead counsel in the seminal bar disciplinary proceedings against John Bradley and Karen O'Sullivan concerning their roles as co-prosecutors in the wrongful conviction of Frances Choy for murder and arson.
