Peno Mclean-Riggs is a paralegal with the Washington Innocence Project. She has experience supporting attorneys and their clients in pre-trial and post-conviction criminal matters, as well as immigration cases. Peno graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 2018 and started her legal career shortly after graduation. Peno speaks Spanish and has interpreted for people and their attorneys in jails, prisons, and federal facilities. Peno's passion for advocating for relief for all people deprived of their liberty is rooted in supporting people close to her as they navigate the injustices of the United States criminal justice and immigration systems.
