Anthony Legion was exonerated after serving nearly 20 years for a murder he did not commit. Convicted in 2001 based on false testimony with no physical evidence, Anthony maintained his innocence throughout. While in prison, he studied law, becoming a paralegal and mentor, assisting others with their legal cases. His case was reopened by the Wayne County Conviction Integrity Unit, uncovering evidence of perjury and misconduct, leading to his release in 2020. Since then, Anthony founded ACELAW, an appellate consulting firm, became a lead paralegal, and established a nonprofit exposing false informant testimony. He continues to advocate for justice and invest in Detroit's future.
