Speaker Bio
Melissa Brown is a current instructor and former manager of education and instructor programs at The Moth, where she's worked since 2011, developing curriculum, facilitating workshops, and directing storytellers. She's taught public speaking, theatre, communication, and playwriting at several CUNY and SUNY colleges and helped build the Shakespeare program at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM). As former co-artistic director of ARTBARN, she created immersive performances based on the history of the spaces they inhabited. She also co-founded and serves as education director of Other Shore, a company that employs storytelling and theater toward a more equitable future.
