Originally from La Crescent, MN, Dr. François trained in Chicago at Loyola University and Northwestern University prior to beginning his career as a radiologist at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He was a part of the Department of Radiology at UW-Madison for 13 years prior to joining the Mayo Clinic in 2020. Dr. François has been active in cardiovascular imaging research since 2001, with strong interests in fast, efficient cardiovascular MR, particularly for patients with congenital heart disease and pulmonary hypertension. He has been a part of numerous NIH- and industry-sponsored projects with over 170 peer-reviewed publications. He is a world-renown expert in 4D Flow MRI. Within the Mayo Clinic Department of Radiology, Dr. François is the Program Director for the Cardiothoracic Imaging Fellowship and Chairs the Speech Run Organization and Report of the Future committees.
