Sheilah, a Certified Chief Executive (CCE), Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) as well as an International (South Africa) CUDE (I-CUDE) is currently the CEO of Florida A & M University Credit Union, Tallahassee Florida.

Her passion is creating opportunities for small asset size credit unions to provide financial wellness to individuals, families, and communities. She partnered with the Office of Economic Vitality in Tallahassee, Fl and the credit union received a $2 million dollar grant to start a Micro-lending program called FAMUFCU SmartSteps. As a certified CDFI, the credit union has received another $2 million dollars in grants to serve small businesses, credit score challenged individuals, and lending programs to assist members during and after COVID.

Sheilah is a co-founder of the African-American Credit Union Coalition, (AACUC) with the distinction of being the longest serving board member of AACUC. She received the Pete Crear Lifetime Award and inducted in the AACUC Hall of Fame. She was also a board member of Inclusiv for nine years. Some of her many recognitions include, being named an Outstanding Georgia Citizenship by the Georgia Secretary of State and one of the 100 most Influential African American Women in Atlanta.
