Marvin Anderson was the 99th person to be exonerated in the United States due to post-conviction DNA testing. He was exonerated in 2002, which is the same year he attended the first-ever Innocence Network Conference. After he was freed, Marvin served as chief of the Hanover, Virginia Fire Department, where he oversaw a team of 30 people. Today he serves on the Board of Directors of the Innocence Project and has been a Conference Lead Ambassador since 2022. He is the only exonerated person to have attended every single Innocence Network Conference.
