Reyna Hernandez is a PhD candidate in sociology at the University of Chicago. Combining her passions and educational pursuits, she has dedicated her graduate studies to researching the effects of wrongful conviction and exoneration since 2017. Her current research focuses on how innocence law and policy shape re-entry and life after incarceration for freed and exonerated people. She has been helping with Road 2 Reentry's development and case management, assisting clients with their post-incarceration needs, which have been some of the coolest and most fulfilling things she has done so far.
