Obie Anthony was sentenced to life without parole for a murder he did not commit. After spending 17 years in prison, he faced the challenging task of rebuilding his life on his own. In 2016, he founded Exonerated Nation, an organization focused on transforming the re-entry experience for exonerees by creating a supportive community that fosters safety, stability, and healing. Obie was also instrumental in the passage of a bill that mandates the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to provide exonerees with essential transitional services, including housing assistance, job training, and mental health support.
