Alice Kim is director of practice at the Center for the Study for Race, Politics and Culture at the University of Chicago, where she leads the Beyond Prisons Initiative. Alice teaches inside Illinois prisons with the Prison+Neighborhood Arts/Education Project and is a co-founder of the Chicago Torture Justice Memorials. She is co-editor of The Long Term: Resisting Life Sentences, Working Toward Freedom.
