Name
Taming the Paper Tiger: Using Technology to Extract and Analyze Case Data
Description

Far from being a "nice to have," data is critical to obtain funding, support policy change, persuade decision-makers, improve litigation practices, and identify optimal ways to expend limited resources. Yet developing a data collection strategy and identifying methods to collect, manage, and clean data from new and archival cases is challenging and can seem overwhelming. In this session, we will present strategic considerations and demonstrate how technology can assist with the collection and management of case data, from deciding what data to collect, how to collect it, and how to develop more efficient processes in case intake, screening and litigation. The future is now so this session will also include discussion of how artificial intelligence (AI) presents new potential to better understand our clients' cases and manage the huge volume of case materials that must be reviewed, digested, and analyzed for us to be effective advocates for our clients.
