The Gender Disparity in Application Response Rates: Reviewing the Data and Possible Solutions
Description

Empirical research shows that women are more likely than men to self-select out when applying for jobs. Could this phenomenon explain the gender gap in application response rates to innocence organizations? In this session, speakers from Ohio innocence organizations will discuss the results of a deep dive into the data, looking at the gender disparity in application response rates year over year. Speakers will discuss tactics utilized in the business world to bolster the number of female applicants and will explore the possibility of taking a similar approach to the problem in the post-conviction innocence context.
