This session is designed for freed/exonerated women, to lift our voices as we share the unique collateral consequences of wrongful convictions to women. We seek to create a safe place to explore the deep impact that our incarceration has had not only on us, but on our communities. As we acknowledge the power in sharing and acknowledging the trauma and losses specific to freed and exonerated women, this session will also include an interactive activity that will help us subvert those traumas and reclaim our power. Through discussion our hope is that all participants emerge from this session a little bit different – freed/exonerated women with a sense of empowerment and new tools, and the audience with a better sense and perspective on how to support these women in our community.
