Sabrina Butler Smith is the first woman exonerated from death row in the U.S. Wrongfully convicted as a teenager in Mississippi, she was exonerated in 1995. Since then, she has become a prominent public speaker and has been featured in numerous documentaries, books, and articles about criminal justice reform. She serves on the Board of Directors for Tennesseans Against the Death Penalty and After Innocence. Additionally, she collaborates with the Illinois Innocence Project to educate police cadets on wrongful convictions. Sabrina has dedicated over 30 years to fighting systemic injustice, which she sees as her divine calling.
